Spiritual Leadership

MASTER OF SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP  Lesson #6

                                  RIGHT SPEECH

This Lesson #6 teaches about Right Speech.  The Author says that the heart of Right Speech is; "How you use your words;  to destroy or build?"  I have to be aware of whether my conversation is Negative or Gossipy because Negativity creates Barriers.  The Author says that if i focus on Right Intention , then Right Action will automatically follow as the outcome.  In this lesson the Author gave me an exercise;  it's called; "Soul Work", I have to write a small, or large piece, about a Hero of mine.  Just "Free Fall" write it in a narrative mode whatever comes out.

This is what i wrote:

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., has been my Hero since childhood.  I can remember  watching the television seeing those black folks being persecuted, dogs being put on them, water hoses spraying on them, being hit with police clubs being beaten in the streets.  In the mist of it all, I remember this black man  who spoke out against this brutality, he formed a "Non Violence" movement.  He was brave, and a Minister of
the Lord.  He stood for freedom and justice, and for the rights of blacks, and the hope that we'll all join hands in  brotherhood one day, and sing the old negroid spiritual, "Free At Last" living in peace and harmony with the White man.

What occurred to me most importantly also was the fact that he didn't have to do what he had done, stood up for the people.  He already had a life of his own in progress and lived far away from where this was happening.  He was chosen and asked by someone to take on the position he had taken on.

Instead, he gave up his life in progress from what he had planned, to become a Civil Rights Leader in the South.  He took all of his focus away from Self, and turned toward Love for Humanity.  Since MLK JR.,  I've had none other Hero than Jesus Christ.  He also did not volunteer to be put into the shoes he walked in.

This is the Right Speech that I will speak also; Love your Brother and Pray for those who spitefully use you, the speech that says; it's not about me, it's about you.
                                       PBUH/ W/THE LOVE OF GOD.
